With virtually a lifetime in the security industry, CSS founders Joe and Judy we able to implement the best practices—from the military to law enforcement—into the private sector to create a top-notch practice.

Joe served a lifetime in law enforcement. At 16, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Merchant Marines, proudly serving during WWII. After his discharge, he worked as a correctional officer at San Quentin, and later as a law enforcement officer for the San Anselmo Police Dept. In 1958, Joe became a Deputy Sheriff with the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department and ran the Guerneville Substation until 1968. From1972 until his passing in 2012, Joe and his wife Judy co-ran CSS.

Judy enjoyed over 50 years of marriage with Joe, 40 of those years were spent co-running CSS as a family-run business. CSS was originally a division that Joe created as part of California Building Maintenance (CBM) that was later incorporated. Judy's high attention to detail and protocol has been one of the secrets to CSS's success. "Take no excuses and make no excuses" has kept the quality of CSS services at a consistent height since its founding in 1972.
